The injury to quarterback Jaxson Dart has taken the air out of the sails of the New York Giants.
Upon entering the lineup in place of veteran signal-caller Russell Wilson, Dart immediately created a spark that finally gave Giants fans hope for the future.
However, that spark was erased in Week 10, when Dart suffered a concussion that has kept him out for two games. That was just the latest blow, as the Giants also lost running back Cam Skattebo to a season-ending injury.
The hope is that Dart will return in Week 13 against the New England Patriots. Here's what we know about that.
Will Jaxson Dart return in Week 13?
Dart's status for Week 13 has yet to be confirmed, but there's a good chance he plays.
For starters, it's fairly rare for a player to miss three games due to a concussion.
Adding to that, Dart turned in three limited practices last week and even took some first-team reps, which shows he was close to getting back on the field in Week 12.
"Jaxson looked like his normal self," interim head coach Mike Kafka said last week. "He looked great."
Adding more optimism for Dart, he's going to have an extra day to get right this week with the Giants' Week 13 game against the Pats coming on Monday night.
When you add it all up, all signs point to Dart making his return to the field this week.
We'll get our next update on Dart on Thursday, when the Giants post their first injury report of the week.
