NY Giants' top competitors for John Harbaugh revealed image

When it comes to the search for a new head coach, the New York Giants have many quality options. Still, they seem set on putting together a full pursuit to land John Harbaugh.

According to a report from The Athletic, the Giants have some competition, as Harbaugh’s market just might be narrowed down to three serious suitors.

Who Are the Giants’ Top Competitors?

Outside of the Giants, the Atlanta Falcons and Tennessee Titans are garnering the “favorite” label when it comes to the former Baltimore Ravens head coach.

All three teams have been in “daily communication” with the head coach’s reps, and they will each get a shot to interview the longtime coach by the end of this week. Atlanta already had their chance, and it hasn’t changed the situation.

The Giants have been gaining some strong support from outsiders amidst the process. Eli Manning, a franchise legend, has reportedly pitched Harbaugh on joining the organization.

And despite Brian Daboll getting let go well before the season ended, the ex-Giants coach also dished in his thoughts with a “strong scouting report” to send to Harbaugh regarding the soon-to-be sophomore passer, Jaxson Dart.

The Falcons are coming off an 8-9 season. They missed the playoffs, but started catching fire at the end, winning four-straight. Atlanta’s front office just added the ex-quarterback Matt Ryan, naming him the president of football operations.

As for the Titans, they finished the year with a 3-14 record. Similar to the Giants, they have an exciting young passer under center in Cam Ward.

There isn’t a target date in place for Harbaugh to make his final decision, but the sooner the better for the head coach. The Giants seem hopeful of landing the 18-year head coach, as they don’t have any strong links to another candidate at this time.
