The Baltimore Ravens shocked the NFL world on Tuesday, as the franchise moved on from head coach John Harbaugh after 18 seasons.
Harbaugh has been one of the best coaches in the league over the last 20 years, but his time in Baltimore seemed to be over after the team's crushing defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers that kept them out of the postseason.
Though Harbaugh's tenure with the Ravens ended on a sour note, the 2012 Super Bowl champion now enters the head coaching market as the top candidate for most of the available jobs, and an NFL insider has already linked Harbaugh to an NFC team.
League insider Jordan Schultz said to keep an eye on Harbaugh and the New York Giants. New York is looking for their full-time replacement for Brian Daboll after Mike Kafka finished the season as the interim coach.
"Keep a close eye on the Giants and John Harbaugh, among several other teams," Schultz said on X.
Harbaugh landing with the Giants would be a logical fit. New York has a promising young quarterback in Jaxson Dart, who could develop into a star with the right coaching staff, and a few difference-makers on both sides of the ball, including wide receiver Malik Nabers and defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence.
If hired by the Giants, Harbaugh would step in and be the leader the franchise desperately needs.
Hatbaugh knows how to win, as his 180-113 record as a head coach shows that. He could be the one who revitalizes the Giants franchise after years of mediocrity and dysfunction.
