The New York Giants are reportedly signing a veteran wide receiver off the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice squad.

According to The Athletic's Dan Duggan, Big Blue is reuniting with wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins.

"A reunion: The Giants are signing Isaiah Hodgins off the Steelers’ practice squad, per source," Duggan reported. "Six weeks after this was an obvious move, but better late than never! Hodgins knows the system and will provide a reliable target to a WR room lacking reliable targets."

There were calls to sign Hodgins in the wake of the Giants losing wide receiver Malik Nabers for the season to a torn ACL, which is what Duggan is referencing in his post.

Now, the Giants have an injury concern with wide receiver Darius Slayton, which is likely what spurred on this move. Slayton exited the Week 10 game early and was a non-participant in practice on Wednesday.

Hodgins joined the Giants in 2022, which was also the best season of his career.

The veteran wide receiver had a career-high 392 yards and four touchdowns, with 351 of those yards and all four of the scores coming with the Giants after he was cut loose by the Buffalo Bills.

Hodgins was never able to recreate that success, though. He finished with just 230 yards and three touchdowns in 2023 and totaled 12 yards in three games in 2024 before he was cut loose by New York.

Hodgins hasn't played in an NFL game since then.

He spent the 2025 offseason with the San Francisco 49ers but didn't make it past final cuts. The Steelers scooped him up in September but Hodgins has not gotten into a game despite Pittsburgh's clear need for wide receiver depth.

It should be a seamless transition for Hodgins, who has experience in interim head coach Mike Kafka's offense.
