The New York Giants haven't made it out of the first quarter of their season-opening game against the Washington Commanders and it appears they have already had a serious injury.
The injury happened to linebacker Micah McFadden in the first quarter. The Giants linebacker suffered what appeared to be a leg injury, and unfortunately it looks serious.
McFadden stayed down on the field for quite some time and the cart was called out to take him off the field. Here's the latest on McFadden.
Micah McFadden injury update
UPDATE: Some unexpectedly positive news for McFadden, as X-rays are reportedly negative and he's back on the sideline with the team.
His foot is in a boot, though.

END OF UPDATE
Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports that McFadden had an air cast put on his right leg, which usually means it's a break. We hope that is not the case.

We'll update this page when more information becomes available.
McFadden is a former fifth-round pick of the Giants. He has appeared in 47 career games, starting in 35 of them. In 2024, McFadden tallied 107 tackles and three sacks in 14 contests.
With McFadden off the field, the Giants are deploying Darius Muasau next to Bobby Okereke.
