Sometimes new incoming head coaches aren’t necessarily excited about the quarterback they inherit, but that doesn’t seem to be the case in New York, as new Giants head coach John Harbaugh seems very excited about the opportunity to coach Jaxson Dart.
Dart is coming off of a promising rookie campaign in which he threw for 2,272 yards, ran for 487 yards and accounted for 24 total touchdowns.

Dart’s presence on the roster was a factor in Harbaugh’s decision to join the Giants, and now the second-year QB will get to develop under one of the NFL’s most accomplished current coaches.
"It starts with the quarterback for sure," Hardbaugh said of Dart at his introductory press conference with the Giants. "You build your team around your quarterback. You build your team around your players and what they do well. I like the way he plays. I like his talent, skill set, all the things he's accomplished.
“But more than that I like who he is and what he's about. To me, he's about football. This young guy loves football. He wants to talk football all the time. That's what I liked doing, too. So we're going to have a lot of great conversations. I can't wait to get started with him."
Harbaugh knows a thing or two about developing a late-first round pick into a star quarterback. Lamar Jackson won two NFL MVP awards under Harbaugh in Baltimore after the team drafted him with the last pick in the first round in 2018.
Harbaugh will aim to replicate that success with Dart, who the Giants selected with the 25th overall pick last year.
