John Harbaugh spent 18 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens before his dismissal.
And now, it sounds like he's taking just a little bit of extra time before finalizing his choice to be the New York Giants' new head coach.
The reports came out about midnight Wednesday into Thursday that Harbaugh, after visiting with the Giants, had agreed to become their new leader.
The indication was that it'd be for five years and about $100 million.
But Friday morning, on NFL Network, insider Tom Pelissero clarified that this isn't quite a done deal:
"Harbaugh has been very methodical about doing his due diligence on all the interested teams," Pelissero said. "...This is leaning toward John Harbaugh becoming the next Giants head coach. But it was not and is not a foregone conclusion."

Harbaugh had been scheduled to interview with the Tennessee Titans and Atlanta Falcons, too, but those interviews haven't happened.
Given the cancellation of the interviews, it still seems like Harbaugh will wind up the Giants coach. It just is taking an extra bit.
SNY's Connor Hughes did report that he expects the contract to be signed at some point on Friday:
The #Giants & John Harbaugh are expected to finalize the deal for him to become their head coach today, per sources. They’re pretty close to getting it done, I’m told. I do not expect anything to change that.

Hiring a coach like Harbaugh is a major get for the Giants.
Their entire fanbase will be waiting with bated breath to make sure that signature actually gets him fully on board.
