Is Jaxson Dart injured? Latest news on Giants rookie vs. Chargers after exiting Week 4 game image

The New York Giants are taking on the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4. The Giants have already lost star wide receiver Malik Nabers to an injury, believed to be a torn ACL, and now rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart is hurt.

Dart was named the starting quarterback for New York heading into Week 4. Head coach Brian Daboll benched Russell Wilson in favor of the rookie, but Wilson still was forced into the game against the Chargers due to Dart picking up some injuries in his first career start.

Here is more on Dart's injury status in Week 4.

MORE WEEK 4:

Is Jaxson Dart injured?

Yes. Dart was seen stretching his hamstring on the field in the first half.

He could just be cramping or be a little tight, but he isn't 100%. The rookie quarterback's status was announced to the press box at MetLife as the announcer said, "Dart has a hamstring injury, but is still in the game," per Jori Epstein, who is on site.

Dart left the game in the third quarter, which prompted Wilson to enter the fray.

While the veteran QB was in the game, it was announced that the rookie had cleared the concussion protocol, so he was also evaluated for a concussion while dealing with the hamstring issue.

Dart did end up returning to the game on the ensuing drive after he was cleared of a concussion. Still, the rookie is banged up and at the very least dealing with a hamstring issue against the Chargers.

The hamstring issue didn't stop Dart from throwing his first career touchdown pass.
