Jaxson Dart breaks silence on Giants hiring John Harbaugh image

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart has broken his silence regarding the team’s decision to hire John Harbaugh as the next head coach.

In an interview with ESPN, Dart expressed excitement and optimism about working with one of the most accomplished current coaches in the NFL.

“When Coach Harbaugh's name came up, that was the one that we were all really, really excited about and wanted to have," Dart said. "So I think from just our standpoint, the guys just can't wait to play for him and have the chance to get coached by him."

Dart doesn't have many expectations when it comes to working with Harbaugh. He really just has one.

"Winning," Dart said. "A whole lot of winning. That's it."

When asked what Harbaugh brings to the Giants, Dart pointed to three things.

"So immediately the winning culture, the intensity, and then just the enthusiasm and love about football, that's what he carries and brings to the team. So, just can't wait to get started and get rolling with him."

It seems like those feelings of excitement are mutual. At his introductory press conference earlier this week, Harbaugh was very complimentary of the second-year signal-caller.

“I like the way he plays. I like his talent, skill set, all the things he's accomplished,” Harbaugh said of Dart. “But more than that I like who he is and what he's about. To me, he's about football. This young guy loves football. He wants to talk football all the time. That's what I liked doing, too. So we're going to have a lot of great conversations. I can't wait to get started with him."

Since, the Giants' future now largely hinges on the duo of Dart and Harbaugh, it's good that the two seem to be on the same page on the onset of their relationship. That pairing has led to a lot of excitement – and optimism – in New York. Let’s see if that translates into on-field success.
