The Week 16 game between the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings presents a major weather concern.

We're in late December, which means weather will be more and more of a factor, with high wind gusts, snow, rain and cold temperatures all potentially negatively impacting outdoor contests.

That could be the case during the Sunday matchup between the Vikings and the Giants.

Here's a closer look at what's in store from Mother Nature.

Giants vs. Vikings weather forecast

According to Accuweather.com, the temperature at MetLife Stadium will actually be reasonable for this time of year in New York, with a high of 46 and a low of 40 degrees during the contest.

Another positive is that there won't be any precipitation, so we don't have to worry about sloppy conditions leading to botched snaps and more drops and fumbles.

But the wind could play a major factor, as gusts are expected to be anywhere from 32-35 MPH. Bear in mind, anything over 20 MPH can be a problem.

High winds mean it'll be tough to move the ball through the air, so the quarterbacks, wide receivers, tight ends and kickers will all have a tougher time.

Conversely, running backs on both teams could see more opportunities if the Vikings and Giants struggle to move the ball through the air in these conditions.
