Giants trade pitch lands top-5 WR draft pick to help Jaxson Dart with Malik Nabers image

The New York Giants have entered their Jaxson Dart Era.

It won't mean much in the final standings in 2025. But in 2026 and beyond, there's a chance for excitement and winning.

It's up to the Giants to get their team-building right going forward to make the most of Dart.

One place that will be in question this offseason is wide receiver, where Malik Nabers is coming back from injury and Wan'Dale Robinson is a pending free agent.

The Giants can boost the group in a big way near the top of the NFL Draft.

They currently slot as the No. 2 pick, but in The Athletic's new mock draft by Dane Brugler, the Giants trade down two slots before picking a WR.

The choice: Ohio State's Carnell Tate.

"The Buckeyes pass catcher is impressively detailed as a route runner, especially on vertical patterns, and his length and focus make him a ball winner at the catch point," Brugler writes. "Tate would complement Malik Nabers really well and reflect the Giants’ desire to surround their young quarterback, Jaxson Dart, with more help."

Tate has been impressive on deep routes all season for the Buckeyes, reeling in pass after pass down the field from QB Julian Sayin.

The other Ohio State receiver star, Jeremiah Smith, can't even enter the draft until next year.

For now, it'll be Tate upholding the OSU WR mantle in the draft. He should do that quite well.
