Russell Wilson is working on what's next.

This hasn't been the season that the 37-year old quarterback wanted, going from QB1 to QB3 with the New York Giants.

It's not clear yet how soon he plans to retire, but his post-playing days are moving in quickly.

This weekend, Wilson will keep an eye on what might come next.

The Super Bowl champion quarterback is slated to appear on the CBS pregame show, The NFL Today. CBS announced the news in a social media post this week, which is a bye week for the Giants.

Wilson might not be the first guy that comes to mind as the most engaging personality as far as the NFL's quarterbacks go. This is a chance for him to change that perception, though.

If Wilson goes on CBS and does a good job, it could set him up nicely for a soft landing whenever he retires.

He's got the resume that networks look for, having been a superstar for the Seattle Seahawks with a Lombardi Trophy to show for it.

His stops with the Broncos, Steelers and Giants haven't been as good, but not everyone ends their career in style.

Wilson won't be the only Giants QB taking this route this weekend, either.

While Russ is on CBS, Jameis Winston will be on Fox making a similar bye-week cameo appearance.

Jaxson Dart is the QB of the future for the Giants. Wilson and Winston are looking into their futures elsewhere.
