The New York Giants have two quarterbacks they could trade ahead of the Nov. 4 deadline in Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston.

Wilson began the year as the starter but played poorly enough to get benched in favor of rookie signal-caller Jaxson Dart, and the first-round pick's success has been a further indictment on the veteran quarterback

Meanwhile, Winston has served as the team's emergency third quarterback all season long, and he stayed in that role even after Wilson was benched.

For teams looking for insurance under center, both players could be attractive, although Winston is probably more attractive given Wilson's struggles.

When it comes to the Giants' preference in terms of who they would rather trade, CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones revealed it is Wilson.

"The Giants would rather deal Russell Wilson than Jameis Winston," Jones reported on Monday.

That makes total sense.

Winston is simply the better player over Wilson at this stage in their respective careers and Wilson will be a free agent in 2026, whereas Winston has another year left on his contract.

Neither player will garner a huge return, but Winston figures to get the better one considering the circumstances we've outlined. Wilson might have the better appeal when it comes to mentoring Dart, but that isn't worth holding on to him.

All that said, the Giants should wait things out with both quarterbacks to see if any team suffers a catastrophic injury at the position, which will only help New York garner a better return, no matter who they end up dealing.
