The New York Giants were not happy about this.
They appeared to recover a fumble against the Philadelphia Eagles against the tush push.
Instead, the Eagles were allowed to keep the ball, and they capped the drive off with a touchdown pass from Jalen Hurts to Saquon Barkley.
It was a fourth-and-1, and the Eagles went with their signature tush push with Hurts under center.
While he was being pushed, the ball came out, and the Giants fell on it.
The referee ruled that a whistle had already blown the play dead for forward progress, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense in this circumstance.
You can't possibly call this forward progress and call the play dead. You just can't.

This is how SNY's Connor Hughes described it on X:
"Out of anger, Brian Daboll challenges the spot (which wasn't close). Giants lose the challenge and a timeout. Daboll was right: The play wasn't dead, forward progress wasn't stopped. It should have been a fumble, but once they call forward progress it doesn't matter."
It definitely seems like the Giants got the short straw on this one.
