The New York Giants are entering the 2025 season with some new faces, including a mostly new quarterback room. Russell Wilson, Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston have been added to the quarterback room, which should be good news for young wide receiver Malik Nabers.
However, Nabers is dealing with an injury, per Jordan Ranaan of ESPN.
"WR Malik Nabers won’t do much at practice. Coach Brian Daboll said he’s still rehabbing a toe injury from last season. Giants going to make sure he gets rest so he’s ready for training camp."
Daboll added that they are "Being mindful of his toe that he had… trying to be smart about it," per Madelyn Burke.
Nabers, the 6th overall pick in 2024, broke out in his rookie year. In 15 games, the LSU star had 109 catches for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns, and that was with Daniel Jones, Tommy DeVito and Drew Lock mostly throwing him the football.
In Year Two, there are high hopes once again for Nabers, especially since one of either Wilson or Dart should be an upgrade over any QB the Giants rolled out last season.
The toe issue is what bothered Nabers in college and during his rookie season, so the Giants are being extra cautious with their WR1 in an important for head coach Brian Daboll.
