Giants announce likely Week 10 kicker decision amid Graham Gano's latest injury image

The New York Giants once again have an injury issue at kicker this week.

Kicker Graham Gano revealed on Thursday that he's dealing with herniated disc in his neck, which is just the latest injury issue for the veteran.

Of course, Gano missed a handful of games previously due to an injured reserve stint stemming from a groin injury he served in pregame warm-ups in Week 3.

"So, I started having some discomfort last week in my neck. I just thought it was normal, like you slept on it wrong," Gano said. "Then, after I came in on Monday, lifted, I felt like it was pretty intense pain. Had some nerve stuff going on.

"Then went to the doctor, and he said it was a herniated disc in my neck. It's pressing up against the spinal cord."

One day after that, the Giants have announced what their likely plan at kicker will be.

Head coach Brian Daboll revealed that Gano will not practice on Friday and that Younghoe Koo is slated to kick against the Chicago Bears.

"I would assume it's going to be Koo," Daboll said, per ESPN's Jordan Ranaan.

Koo was initially signed to the Giants' practice squad in September after Gano's first injury, but he was oddly passed up on for Jude McAtamney, who proved he's not ready for the bright lights of the NFL.

Koo was a reliable kicker for the Atlanta Falcons for a handful of years before he began having major issues in 2024 that bled into 2025, leading to the Falcons' decision to cut ties with him.

Koo hasn't attempted a field goal since Week 1, when he missed one of his three attempts. Now, he has a golden opportunity to revive his career in New York.
