Saints predicted to add superstar talent to help Tyler Shough in Daniel Jeremiah's mock draft image

The New Orleans Saints' top offseason priority by a wide margin is adding more help for quarterback Tyler Shough.

The 2025 second-round pick showed more than enough to be given the reins of the starting job in 2026, and now the Saints are tasked with giving him more weapons, which will go a long way toward putting Should in a better position to succeed.

In his first mock draft, Daniel Jeremiah of NFL.com has the Saints doing just that by drafting Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love with the No. 8 overall pick.

"I love -- no pun intended -- the idea of pairing Tyler Shough with the most electric playmaker in the draft," Jeremiah wrote.

The Saints should, at the very least, explore their options at running back in 2026, and that includes taking Love with their first-round pick.

Alvin Kamara will be 31 next season and is coming off a campaign in which he was plagued by injury and wasn't very effective when on the field.

Devin Neal showed some flashes in his limited opportunities, but not enough to crown the sixth-round pick the future at the running back position.

Love is not only considered the best running back in this year's class, he's one of the best players overall.

The Notre Dame product showed superstar potential in college and is a complete back capable of being a three-down asset thanks to his rushing, pass-catching and pass-blocking abilities.

Having a running back like Love who can create explosive plays both as a runner and receiver and can take games over would take a ton of pressure off Shough.

Drafting a running back this early has become taboo in recent years, but Love is good enough to warrant a selection in this spot and makes total sense for New Orleans.
