The New Orleans Saints went with a bit of a different backfield approach on Sunday at the Buffalo Bills.
It worked pretty well, too, thanks to Kendre Miller's performance.
Miller finished with 65 rushing yards, the second-most of his career. He scored his first touchdown of the year, too.
"This game could represent an upward trend for his usage," writes ESPN's Katherine Terrell.
Alvin Kamara is still the RB1 in New Orleans.
But if Miller keeps running this powerfully and effectively, it'll be tough to keep him on the sideline for too long of stretches, especially when he could potentially have a longer future in New Orleans than Kamara.

Definitely of note here is that Miller played a season-high 21 snaps on Sunday. That came a week after playing 20 snaps as his snap count has now risen two weeks in a row (and his percentage of offensive snaps has gone up every week).
Miller was on the field for 31.3% of the Saints' plays in Week 4. If he can bump that up even a little higher, he could continue to show what the future of New Orleans' backfield could look like.
Kamara will always remain the pass-catching back, but Miller has put himself in position to stake a very real claim to a lot of the early-down running.
As the Saints try to figure out their future, it's a positive development.
