The New Orleans Saints are down a pair of running backs for their Week 16 game against the New York Jets.

That's because running back Alvin Kamara has been ruled out once again because of ankle and knee injuries, and rookie running back Devin Neal is out for the season after he was placed on injured reserve this week.

That means more opportunities for backup running backs Audric Estime and Evan Hull, both of whom saw action last week.

But who is the better starting option in Week 16 if you have to choose one?

Here's what we know.

After Neal exited due to injury last week, Estime saw three more snaps and two more touches than Hull, although the latter did see one more carry.

Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football said during the week that Estime will "probably" start, so we'd lean toward him getting the majority of touches.

Adding to that, Estime was the one seeing work in the passing game last week, so that only strengthens the argument that he's the better starting option over Hull.

Both backs could eat, though, as the Jets are ceding the second-most fantasy points per game to running backs this season.

But we're only considering starting one back out of this duo, and right now it looks like Estime is the better bet.

Estime verdict: Start

Hull verdict: Sit
