When the New Orleans Saints take the field to host the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday afternoon, they are expected to have their starting running back available.
Alvin Kamara was originally listed as questionable for the contest due to an ankle injury, but he is expected to play against Atlanta, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Alvin Karama expected to play in Week 12 vs. Falcons
At the end of the day, Kamara's availability might not matter too much to the Saints, who are just 2-8 on the season and well outside of the playoff picture in the NFC. Kamara is good, but he's not good enough to singlehandedly lift the Saints from the bottom of the NFC South.
However, it is good news for people who have him in fantasy football, or those who want to wager on his prop bets. Though people betting on his props might want to take the under, as Kamara's counting stats are down drastically this season compared to previous years.
In 10 games this season, Kamara has 128 carries for 460 yards and just one touchdown. He's also added 31 receptions for 182 yards.
For comparison's sake, Kamara had 228 carries for 950 yards and six touchdowns last season, plus 68 receptions for 543 yards and two more touchdowns.
Kamara is coming off one of his more productive games of the season, however. He had 22 carries for 83 cards against the Carolina Panthers in Week 10 and added three receptions for 32 yards. Perhaps Kamara will be able to build off of that momentum against Atlanta on Sunday afternoon.
