Will Rhamondre Stevenson be back in Week 10? Latest injury update on Patriots RB image

The New England Patriots were down a running back in Week 9, as Rhamondre Stevenson did not play due to a toe injury.

Stevenson popped up on the injury report on Wednesday and was unable to log a single practice, full or otherwise, the entire week before he was ruled out for the contest against the Atlanta Falcons on Friday.

Now, we turn our attention to Week 10, when the Patriots will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in what should be an exciting game.

But will the Patriots have Stevenson back for that contest? Here's what we know.

Will Rhamondre Stevenson be back in Week 10?

UPDATE: Ladies and gents, we have an update from head coach Mike Vrabel, who revealed that Stevenson will not be practicing on Wednesday. This leaves the veteran back on track to sit out in Week 10.

There haven't been any reports one way or the other about Stevenson's Week 10 status, and we know that Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel doesn't give much information, if any, on injuries.

“I’m not into predictions. I don’t really do timeframes,” Vrabel said of his running last week. “But all I can tell you is that he’s working hard.... So, he is fighting to get back as fast as possible.”

Thanks, Mike. We'll try to take it from here and make an educated guess.

Based on the fact that Stevenson did not practice at all and wasn't even a game-time decision, it would appear he wasn't close to playing last week.

When taking that into account, it appears there's a good chance he doesn't play this week.

The next update we'll get on Stevenson will come on Wednesday when the Patriots drop their first injury report of the week. Maybe Vrabel will give an update before practice, but we certainly wouldn't bet on that.

Who is Rhamondre Stevenson's handcuff?

If Stevenson can't go, look for another fairly even split between TreVeyon Henderson and Terrell Jennings.

Henderson led the backfield with 18 touches, including a team-high 14 carries, and Jennings chipped in with 12 touches, including 11 carries.

We peg Henderson as the better fantasy play if Stevenson is out.
