The New England Patriots wrapped up the 2025 regular season with a blowout win over the Miami Dolphins at home.

With their victory over Miami, New England finished the season with a 14-3 record and will be the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoffs. The Denver Broncos secured the top spot in the AFC with a win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Patriots missed out on a first-round bye and will have to play on wild-card weekend. That said, we know now New England's first-round playoff opponent.

Who will Patriots play in wild-card round?

The Patriots will host the Chargers in the wild-card round.

Los Angeles is the No. 7 seed after their loss to the Broncos, so they will travel to Foxborough to square off against New England. The Patriots haven't had a home playoff game since Tom Brady's final contest with the franchise in 2019.

Drake Maye versus Justin Herbert in the first round is a great way to kick off the NFL playoffs.
