Where Patriots stand in AFC East, playoff picture after Week 13 win vs. Giants

The New England Patriots tallied their tenth straight victory on Monday night, defeating the New York Giants in a classic primetime blowout.

After starting 1-2, New England hasn't lost and looks like the current favorite to reach the Super Bowl in the AFC. However, the team still has a lot of work to do.

Despite holding an 11-2 record, the Patriots are still fighting to win the AFC East and secure the No.1 seed in the conference. Mike Vrabel's squad does have a nice cushion in the division, though.

1. New England Patriots (11-2)

2. Buffalo Bills (8-4)

3. Miami Dolphins (5-7)

4. New York Jets (3-9)

New England possesses a three-game lead over Buffalo in the AFC East, and also currently has the tiebreaker advantage over the Bills due to a Week 5 victory.

Additionally, New England has a better conference record (6-2) than Buffalo (5-3), which can be another tiebreaker down the line.

AFC playoff picture

On top of it all, the Patriots retook the No.1 seed in the AFC with their victory over the Giants. The Denver Broncos defeated the Washington Commanders on Sunday to temporarily move into the first spot in the conference, but New England took it right back on Monday.

With four games remaining, the Patriots are in a fantastic position to be the top team in the AFC East and possibly the entire conference. Vrabel and his group have completely shocked the NFL world in 2025.
