The New England Patriots have officially immortalized Tom Brady with a towering bronze statue outside Gillette Stadium. The 12-foot figure, standing atop a granite base that pushes the height to 17 feet, was unveiled Friday afternoon in front of a large, chanting crowd.
A bronze tribute for New England’s greatest
Owner Robert Kraft fulfilled a promise he made when Brady entered the team’s Hall of Fame last year, ensuring the quarterback who brought six Lombardi trophies to New England would be honored in a permanent way. The dimensions were symbolic — Brady’s jersey number 12 inspired the statue’s height, while the granite base represents the 17 AFC East titles captured during his tenure.
“This is overwhelming,” Brady told the fans. “I’m honored, grateful, and honestly, I feel kind of old. Usually, statues are for guys who’ve been gone for decades… like Vrabel and Bruschi.” Former teammate Mike Vrabel, now head coach of the Patriots, was there for the event.
Brady reflected on arriving in 2000 as a sixth-round draft pick just hoping to make the roster. “I never imagined I’d be here 25 years later, frozen in bronze,” he joked, adding, “It’s fitting given my 40-yard dash time.”
Known for his competitive edge and quick wit, Brady kept the laughs coming. “This is the first time Boston sportswriters will ever call me chiseled,” he said. He even took a playful jab at division rival New York: “The statue isn’t just for Pats fans. Jets fans can enjoy throwing their beers at it every year… probably by the second quarter.”
Kraft noted the piece was created by a local sculptor and the granite was sourced from Vermont. The base’s shape symbolizes the team’s six Super Bowl wins, a visual reminder of two decades of dominance.

The unveiling took place 90 minutes before the Patriots hosted the Washington Commanders in their preseason opener, giving fans a chance to honor Brady both outside and inside the stadium.
“This will forever remind us of what Tom did and how he made us feel,” Kraft said. The crowd responded the only way they knew how — with chants of “Brady! Brady! Brady!” echoing across Foxborough.
