President Donald Trump is a big football fan, and he, like the rest of us, noticed the shocking news that emerged on Tuesday night.
The news: Patriots legend Bill Belichick would not be elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on his first ballot attempt.
Belichick won six Super Bowls as the head coach of the Pats while teaming with Tom Brady, and he also won two Super Bowls while defensive coordinator of the New York Giants.
He's second all-time in wins among head coaches in NFL history, behind just Don Shula.

Belichick needed 40-of-50 votes from the committee to vote him in, so at least 11 of those people didn't vote for him.
President Trump took to Truth Social to share his feelings, also comparing it to the new kickoff rules, which he isn't a fan of.
“It is the same mindset that gave pro football the new and unwatchable 'Sissy' Kickoff Rule, that made it possible for Bill Belichick to not be elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame," the President wrote. “Both are ridiculous and should be overturned!”

The Hall of Fame's new class won't be officially unveiled until Feb. 5. This news came via in-depth reporting from ESPN's Seth Wickersham and Don Van Natta Jr.
The President did host Belichick and the Patriots at the White House during his first term in office, as pictured above, a visit which came after New England's famed comeback from 28-3 down to defeat the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI.
Now, the President is simply wondering like the rest of us how it's possible that someone with Belichick's accomplishments wouldn't be a shoo-in for the Hall of Fame.
