Patriots make two hugely important roster moves ahead of Dolphins game image

The New England Patriots will be getting two huge reinforcements for the Week 18 game against the Miami Dolphins.

The Patriots announced on Saturday that they have activated left tackle Will Campbell and defensive lineman Milton Williams from injured reserve, which fully clears the way for their respective returns in Week 18.

In addition to those moves, the Patriots released defensive tackle Jeremiah Pharms Jr. And elevated offensive lineman Brenden Jaimes and defensive lineman Leonard Taylor III from the practice squad.

The writing was on the wall this would happen, as Campbell and Williams were fully removed from the injury report on Friday.

It goes without saying how big this is for a Patriots team that is vying for the No. 1 seed in the conference.

New England can accomplish that feat with win or tie and a Denver Broncos loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. The chances of the Broncos losing to Los Angeles took a major hit, though, as the Chargers won't play quarterback Justin Herbert.

The returns of Campbell and Williams are also important because now both players will have an opportunity to shake off some rust before the playoffs begin, whether that be next week or the week after.

Both Denver and New England will begin their Week 18 contests at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday.
