The New England Patriots will host the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday night in what will be the last of three playoff games on the day.

The Patriots saw an unbelievable turnaround this season, going 14-3 en route to an AFC East title and the No. 2 seed in the conference. New England has a potential MVP in Drake Maye and a possible Coach of the Year in Mike Vrabel.

For the second-straight season, the Chargers posted 11 wins under Jim Harbaugh, but just like 2024, that was only good enough for second place in the highly competitive AFC West.

But Los Angeles landed in the final wild-card spot with plenty of room to spare.

At this time of year, it's important to check out the weather forecast to see if there is anything that could impact a game.

Unfortunately, there is one concern for both teams, and an additional one for the Chargers that could impact their performance.

Patriots vs. Chargers weather forecast

Both teams will be battling the wind in this game.

According to AccuWeather.com, wind gusts are expected to be anywhere from 37-39 MPH throughout the contest.

Gusts over 20 MPH can make an impact on the kickers and passing attacks of teams, so that's certainly something to keep an eye on.

If the wind indeed makes it difficult for Maye and Justin Herbert to throw the football, both teams could lean on the run more.

While the Patriots are accustomed to playing in cold-weather games, the same cannot be said for the Chargers, who will be battling temperatures south of 40 degrees all night long. Chalk that up as an advantage for New England.

In terms of precipitation, there is none expected.
