New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs made headlines before even suiting up for his new team. On Memorial Day weekend, the talented wide receiver was seen on a boat holding what some predicted was an illegal substance.
After the video surfaced, head coach Mike Vrabel issued a statement: "It's something that we're aware of. And obviously, we want to make great decisions on and off the field. The message will be the same for all our players that we're trying to make great decisions."
Diggs did not participate during the OTAs following that video surfacing, but Vrabel did say he had talked to him previously.
Now, on Monday, Patriots offensive coordinator revealed that Diggs was in attendance, per Doug Kyed of The Boston Herald.
"Patriots WR Stefon Diggs is here for today's OTAs session, per OC Josh McDaniels."
Diggs' stir created by the boat video led some to wonder if the Patriots move on from him despite signing a three-year, $69 million deal.
“I came to this show yesterday with the opinion — not opinion, but the knowledge that it is on the table," Boston radio host Scott Zolak mentioned.
However, his presence at OTAs on Monday might suggest otherwise. Plus, the Patriots desperately need a bonafide WR1 to help out young QB Drake Maye and new head coach Mike Vrabel.
