Patriots announce bad news in latest TreVeyon Henderson injury update image

Well, that got worse.

The New England Patriots couldn't get TreVeyon Henderson going early in Sunday night's game against the Ravens.

And then in the second quarter, Henderson was injured. He was tackled hard, and the back of his head slammed into the ground.

He stayed down and exited the game.

The Pats initially ruled Henderson questionable to return.

But once the third quarter got underway, the Patriots made a new announcement: Henderson was officially out for the rest of the night due to a head injury.

It's bad timing. The Pats don't want to lose the rookie at all, especially if a potential concussion keeps Henderson out for a while going forward.

Without Henderson, the Patriots will have to rely fully on Rhamondre Stevenson. They've got D'Ernest Johnson backing him up right now, but don't expect to see him much.

Stevenson is reliable in all phases of the game, so he should be just fine out there getting more touches.

In the meantime, Patriots fans will just have to hope that Henderson is OK long term and is back in time for the playoffs, at the very least.
