Former Patriots' HC Bill Belichick responds strongly to Hall of Fame snub

The NFL world is in meltdown after ESPN revealed that former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is not a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

This comes from an ESPN report that Bill received only 40 of the 50 votes needed to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

And the reaction has been exactly as you would expect.

But what about Bill's thoughts?

Several sources spoke with Belichick over the weekend, according to ESPN, with Bill's response being what you would think.

"Six Super Bowls isn't enough?" And "What does a guy have to do?" Belichick said to several associates, according to ESPN.

And in truth, he's right.

Reason revealed why Belichick missed first-ballot

In the ESPN report, one Hall of Fame voter revealed what they thought was the only explanation for Belichick not being a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

"The only explanation [for the outcome] was the cheating stuff," a veteran Hall voter told ESPN on Tuesday. "It really bothered some of the guys."

With Spygate and Deflategate being big marks against Belichick and the Patriots, does that really impact his Hall of Fame status?

It appears, at least for this year, it does.
