Cam Newton knows how to grab attention.
In this case, the former NFL MVP chose to attach a terribly dumb label to New England Patriots second-year QB Drake Maye.
Newton called Maye a "game manager."
“You may not like who’s saying it… but it’s the truth.”

It's simply a bad take.
A quarterback doesn't become the favorite to win MVP just by managing games.
He does it by making remarkable plays and throws and runs, consistently and again and again. Newton would know.
He's already gotten backlash for comments on Maye earlier this season, so apparently he's just sticking with it.
But this season, Maye has had moments that remind of Bills reigning MVP Josh Allen. The Pats' QB has risen from a promising rookie to a superstar in just one season.

Sure, New England hasn't played the toughest schedule, but that's not Maye's fault.
He has shone brightly against pretty much everyone put onto the field in front of him.
Sure, he's managed games, if you consider a properly managed game one that the Patriots win. They've done a lot of that, and Maye has been a major reason why with plays both simple and exceptional.
