When is Christian Darrisaw coming back? Latest injury update on Vikings left tackle image

The Minnesota Vikings are once again without left tackle Christian Darrisaw in the Week 2 game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Darrisaw, who is recovering from a torn ACL and MCL suffered in 2024, looked like he might suit up in Week 1 after logging two full practices to close out the week, but he was ultimately inactive after drawing a questionable tag.

Then, in Week 2, Darrisaw started off with a full practice before being limited the next two days and being ruled out on Saturday.

So, when can we expect Darrisaw back in the lineup? Here's what we know.

Christian Darrisaw injury update

There were initial fears that Darrisaw had suffered a setback after being so close to playing last week as a game-time decision and then being ruled out before gameday this week.

However, head coach Kevin O'Connell revealed that Darrisaw did not suffer a setback, which is certainly great news.

"There was a thought of wanting to just make sure that we completed the weekly process, specifically knowing that we had the extra day and then allowing Christian to go feel the atmosphere and start getting his mind in that place where he could go, and it was a total positive from that standpoint," O'Connell said.

"He continues to progress, and with the injury he had, he's still so far ahead of schedule and it's such a great place on the daily that we just want to continue that. And as I've told Christian and our medical staff many, many times, first and foremost, the number one priority will always be what's in the best interest, not only in the present for sure, but more importantly in the long term for the player."

Knowing all that, it would appear Darrisaw is still on the cusp of making his 2025 debut. We'll see if he can finally do that next week.
