Vikings' J.J. McCarthy gets hilarious taunting penalty as he plays for his starting job in 2026 image

J.J. McCarthy returned from injury to start in Week 18.

The Minnesota Vikings' second-year QB might be playing for his job. And so on their first drive, he was playing with a swagger, too.

McCarthy had a sweet scramble against the Green Bay Packers, escaping catches and running up the sideline.

At the end of the run, McCarthy ran over cornerback Keisean Nixon.

McCarthy let Nixon hear about it.

And that earned McCarthy a taunting penalty:

McCarthy probably won't care too much. He's being assertive. He's trying to prove he belongs. 

Whether he actually does, who knows? The Vikings will have that decision to make in the future.
