Vikings' Harrison Smith nearly played QB before his retirement decision image

The Minnesota Vikings wanted to get Harrison Smith on the field once more before he potentially decides to retire this offseason.

That's when Smith told head coach Kevin O'Connell that he wanted to play quarterback.

O'Connell decided against it.

The Vikings were going to kneel down at the end of their game, and O'Connell thought about getting fan favorites C.J. Ham and Smith both on the field for that final play.

Something about Smith wanting to take the snap scared O'Connell off.

If this is it for Smith, he's been an absolute legend.

Smith is 36 years old and a superstar for the Vikings with 39 interceptions in his career.

He has played 207 games for Minnesota since being the No. 29 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft out of Notre Dame.

Vikings fans certainly would've gotten a kick out of Smith taking a snap to end his career, but alas, it didn't happen.
