The concern is rising.
The Minnesota Vikings hoped they had their franchise quarterback in J.J. McCarthy.
But aside from a quarter or two so far this season, McCarthy hasn't been good.
That earned him some boo birds on Sunday.
This tweet explains part of it:
Really loud boos at U.S. Bank Stadium. Threw on 2nd and 2 and 3rd and 2. You HAVE to run the football there. You have to. With how the QB is playing.

The fans likely aren't happy with the play calling either, but this is on McCarthy to a large extent.
Earlier, he missed a wide open Justin Jefferson on a third-and-7 by just airmailing him.
McCarthy doesn't have much option behind him. It's just undrafted rookie Max Brosmer, so the Vikings are stuck unless Kevin O'Connell wants to make a super bold move.
But that doesn't mean McCarthy is in it for the long haul. He's clearly struggling.
