This week, the Cleveland Browns decided to bench veteran Joe Flacco and will turn to rookie Dillon Gabriel as their starter against the Minnesota Vikings.

Flacco had started the Browns' first four games but has struggled with turnovers, throwing six interceptions this season, including two in the first half of Sunday's 34-10 loss to the Detroit Lions.

Cleveland will have Flacco as their backup quarterback on Sunday, while rookie Shedeur Sanders remains third on the depth chart.

What the Vikings expect from Dillon Gabriel

Ahead of the Week 5 game in London, Vikings outside linebacker Jonathan Greenard spoke to the media on Thursday and shared what the team expects the Browns to do with a rookie quarterback under center.

"Younger quarterback, so I'm pretty sure they're going to try to get the run game going," Greenard said. "If they're watching any of the film we put on [over] the past couple [of] weeks, teams had some success running the ball. So, I see them probably running the ball and trying to make the game a little bit smaller."

Greenard doesn't believe the Browns will put too much on Gabriel right away. Instead, Cleveland's coaching staff is expected to ease him in, keeping things straightforward as the Oregon product adjusts to the offense.

"The game plan [will be] smaller to not cloud his mind as much, [to] get the ball out quick, kind of like the same plans we've been seeing all season," Greenard added. "So, [we] know he's a pretty talented kid, so we're just expecting everything at this point."

Through four games, the Browns have the NFL's second-lowest scoring offense, putting up just 14 points per game. The question now is whether Gabriel can spark some life into the unit, or if the Vikings' defense will look to exploit the rookie's inexperience.

"You wait for the perfect time, you are going to wait a whole lifetime," Gabriel said (h/t ESPN). "So, for me, I've always been ready."
