The Miami Dolphins dropped to 1-5 after their heartbreaking Week 6 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Miami took a lead late in the game, but the Chargers, thanks to a huge play to Ladd McKonkey, drove the ball well inside Dolphins territory for the game-winning field goal.
After the game, Tua Tagovailoa called out players on the Dolphins for being late to, or skipping, team meetings. Amid the team's struggles, that comment is a damning indictment of how the team is being run. As Tagovailoa said, "It starts with leadership."
But, after those comments from Tagovailoa came out, a former teammate of his in Miami, DaeSean Hamilton, came forward and slammed the Dolphins quarterback for being hypocritical, as he claimed Tagovailoa was late to a team meeting during his brief time in Miami.
Former teammate of Tua Tagovailoa blasts Dolphins QB over hypocritical comments
"This dude..." Hamilton writes, "the starting QB...was late to the first team meeting during my 3 seconds on the Dolphins, and everything was all cool in there"

Hamilton is not signed with a team at the moment, but back in 2022, he was with the Dolphins for a brief period of time. He signed to the team's practice squad on December 14th, and 16 days later, on December 30th, was released from the practice squad.
What Hamilton is claiming is that during that 16-day window on the Dolphins, at the very start, Tagovailoa was late for a team meeting, and that nothing was done about it.
In Tagovailoa's first game since he allegedly was late for a team meeting, the Dolphins lost to the Buffalo Bills by a score of 32-29, where Tagovailoa threw for 234 yards and two touchdowns on 17 completions with no interceptions and only two sacks.
Showing up late to a team meeting, if Tagovailoa actually did as Hamilton claims, then it didn't have an impact on his on-field performance.

Tagovailoa isn't mincing words this season, which began when he called out Tyreek Hill before the season began about how Hill needed to rebuild trust with his teammates following his "I'm out" comment after the 2024 season.
This situation is a bit different, however, as Tagovailoa is calling out anonymous players for their tardiness or absence at team meetings. But a former teammate of Tagovailoa's in DaeSean Hamilton, is calling out the Dolphins quarterback for his contradictory comments, claiming Tagovailoa was also late to a team meeting in his first meeting with the team in 2022.
With how the Dolphins' season has gone thus far, between the injuries, lackluster play from rookies, heartbreaking losses, and hot-seat rumors for Mike McDaniel, Hamilton's allegation is still just that, an allegation. Amid the turmoil of the 2025 season for the Dolphins so far, it's just a minor blemish on what's been a tough season through six weeks.
