Tua Tagovailoa NFL contract details
Tagovailoa signed a four-year, $212.4 million contract extension with the Dolphins, which gives him $53.1 million per season. That is the sixth-highest value per year entering the 2025 season, but at the time it was signed it was the third-highest.
Tagovailoa's current contract includes over $167 million guaranteed, over $93 million guaranteed at signing. and a $42 million signing bonus. The contract runs through 2028, when Tagovailoa turns 30 years-old, but also includes two void years at the end.
When he signed the contract, Tagovailoa said he understood the responsibility it entailed.
"I'm the highest-paid employee in this office," Tagovailoa said, via ESPN. "I got to get my whatever together. I got to get that right and get our guys moving in the direction that we need to go to be able to do those things."

According to Spotrac, Tagovailoa will have earned $73.5 million in his career through the 2025 season. He has only signed to contracts so far in his career, his rookie contract then his extension with the Dolphins, so he has the opportunity to earn much more in his career.

In 2021, Tagovailoa helped establish the Tua Foundation as a "501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the support of youth initiatives, health and wellness and other charitable causes," according to its website.

The Tua Foundation has also held annual Luaus to raise money. Additionally, this foundation has worked with other foundations led by Tagovailoa's acquaintances, including the Nick's Kids Foundation, the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame and Big Brothers Big Sisters Miami.
Tagovailoa mentioned how his own kids have helped him find a new respect for helping children in need.
"I sort of had a newfound perspective on life, having my own kids and being able to give back," Tagovailoa said. "Giving back to the kids, though — those kids are the future generation. They're the future of this world here. Those guys are going to make this world go round. And so, for me, that’s my heart. My heart is giving. I think that’s also my love language."

Where does Tua Tagovailoa live?
In July of 2025, Tagovailoa sold his home in Broward County, Florida for $2.6 million after initially listing it for $3 million, Homes.com reported. The house, which Tagovailoa bought in 2020, features five bedrooms on a property including over 5,000 acres. It's unclear exactly where Tagovailoa moved since.
In the offseason, Tagovailoa spends much of his time in Hawaii, which is where he grew up, and in Alabama, where he went to college.
