While the Miami Dolphins' 2025 season has gone exceptionally poorly, there is still a chance that head coach Mike McDaniel holds onto his job after this season.
But that's not a guarantee. He very well could get fired after 2025, and it wouldn't be a surprise. However, if he does depart after this season, he would likely draw a lot of interest from around the NFL, and his potential landing spot would be interesting.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, one rumor has the Dolphins head coach leaving Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins behind for another left-handed quarterback.
Dolphins' Mike McDaniel could pair up with new lefty QB
"My sense is that McDaniel would be a candidate in Cleveland," Fowler reports, "should the Dolphins move on and Cleveland's job open."
If the Dolphins part ways with McDaniel, and the Cleveland Browns do the same with their head coach, Kevin Stefanski, a switch could be in place.
While Miami might not take in Stefanski, the Browns are one of the top teams that'd pursue McDaniel. The situation in Cleveland isn't much better than Miami, but it would be a change of scenery for the Dolphins' head coach.

A huge part of this move would also be the quarterbacks that McDaniel would become responsible for. Tagovailoa, Quinn Ewers, and Zach Wilson would turn into a much different room in Cleveland.
Shedeur Sanders is the current starter and has a strong fan base both inside and outside of Cleveland. Deshaun Watson is a huge mistake, eating up a ton of money on the roster, and left-hander Dillon Gabriel is a decent starter with little upside.
While McDaniel isn't linked there just due to Cleveland having a lefty quarterback, the connection is an interesting one if nothing else.
This would be a fascinating head coaching switch this offseason, as the Browns and Dolphins could realistically exchange head coaches this offseason, and both fanbases might be happy.
