Through the first seven games of the 2025 season, the Miami Dolphins were going downhill. Since then, the Dolphins have been able to turn things around, winning three of their last four.
The postseason is still far-fetched, but with a 4-7 record, head coach Mike McDaniel and the Dolphins have squeezed in some hope for the franchise.
Originally, McDaniel was in the hot seat, but it appears that he's working his way back to securing his future in Miami.
Fowler & Graziano: Mike McDaniel can still save his job moving forward
In a new report on the NFL's latest news, ESPN insiders Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano revealed Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel's job status heading into Week 13.
"With winnable games against the Saints, Jets, Steelers and Bengals over the next four weeks (before a tough-looking Bucks/Patriots finish), the Dolphins could potentially salvage something of this season and potentially save (Mike) McDaniel's job," The two insiders wrote. "It is not out of the question that McDaniel continues to coach the Dolphins in 2026."
McDaniel's has led the Miami Dolphins to a 32-30 record in the four seasons he's been at the helm. It will be crucial for him to keep that record at or above the.500 mark to help secure his job for the future.
With less than half of the regular season, it will be interesting to monitor the play of the Miami Dolphins. Nobody is saying that the franchise won't make the playoffs either, although it appears Mike McDaniels is playing for more than just this season.
