Is Jaylen Waddle playing today? Latest injury update on Dolphins WR for Week 18 image

The Miami Dolphins aren't certain to have wide receiver Jaylen Waddle on the field when they take on the New England Patriots on Sunday in Week 18.

Waddle came up with a ribs injury in Week 17 that landed him on the injury report this week. Waddle didn't practice on Wednesday before turning in two limited practices on Thursday and Friday and drawing the questionable tag.

Ahead of a game the Patriots need to win to have a chance to secure the No. 1 seed in the AFC, here's what we know about Waddle's status.

Is Jaylen Waddle playing today?

No, Waddle is not expected to play in Week 18 against the Patriots, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

"Dolphins running back De'Von Achane and wide receiver Jaylen Waddle are not expected to play today’s regular-season finale at New England, per sources," he reported on Sunday morning.

This leaves the Dolphins extremely short at wide receiver for rookie quarterback Quinn Ewers, which is going to make things very difficult for the offense.

Malik Washington will likely serve as the team's top wideout, with veteran Nick Westbrook-Ikhine probably seeing more playing time.

Rookie Theo Wease may also see some extra run after tallying three catches for 95 yards over the past two games.
