The Miami Dolphins will be without cornerback JuJu Brents for the rest of the season after he was injured in Sunday's win over the Washington Commanders.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the former second-round pick will undergo a season-ending foot injury. The injury couldn't have possibly come at a worse time, as the cornerback was just relaunching his NFL career after earning a call for the starting lineup.

The game in Madrid saw the Dolphins win 16-13 in overtime. Running back De'Von Achane rushed for 120 yards on 21 carries. Meanwhile, Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa went 14-20 for 171 passing yards.
Brents still has one year remaining on his contract after the current season. He was signed to a four-year, $8,196,937 rookie contract by the Indianapolis Colts before they cut him loose for Miami to acquire him before the 2025 season.
This season, Brents played seven games, recording 14 total tackles, a pass deflection and a fumble recovery.
What happened to JuJu Brents?
JuJu Brent left Sunday's game with an ankle injury in the fourth quarter. In his absence, the Dolphins will now have to look at their depth and identify who can fill his role in the starting lineup.
Brents went to Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he played as a defensive back. He went to Iowa in 2018 and quickly emerged at No. 3 in the program's depth chart for the cornerback position. He played his last season in Iowa in 2020, wrapping up his career with the Hawkeyes, where he appeared in 18 games (including five starts), recording 17 tackles and one interception.
He played the next two years for Kansas State before declaring for the 2023 NFL draft, where the Colts picked him 44th overall in the second round. He suffered a knee injury, which proved to be season-ending as he went on to get released by the Colts.
The Dolphins claimed him off waivers this August but will now have to wait until 2026 to see him return to the gridiron.
