The Miami Dolphins, after dropping to 2-7 with a Thursday Night Football loss to the Baltimore Ravens, mutually agreed to part ways with longtime general manager Chris Grier.

This decision has sparked a much stronger belief around the NFL that Miami will sell at the deadline. Of their trade candidates, pass rusher Jaelan Phillips has been drawing the most interest.

As Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports, Phillips is drawing significant interest from not just the Philadelphia Eagles but their NFC East rival, the Dallas Cowboys. Miami might see Philly and Dallas get into a bidding war for their star pass rusher.

Dolphins' Jaelan Phillips drawing trade interest from Eagles, Cowboys

"While they (Dallas Cowboys) might not pull off another blockbuster like when they dealt Micah Parsons at the end of August, they are in the market for a pass rusher, sources say." Rapoport writes.

With Dallas in the market for pass rush help, Phillips is a clear trade target for the Cowboys. Phillips would be a solid rental option to replace Parsons in 2025.

Meanwhile, the Eagles have been heavily linked to Phillips in the days leading up to the trade deadline. Former Dolphins defensive coordinator Vic Fangio had success with Phillips and is interested in a reunion in Philadelphia.

With both the Cowboys and Eagles interested in Phillips, and both Jerry Jones and Howie Roseman more than willing to acquire talent at the trade deadline, both teams might end up in a bidding war for Phillips at the NFL trade deadline.

Phillips is a one-year rental, and Miami has been asking for at least a third-round pick. Both teams have the ammo to make such a trade work, though the Dolphins could patiently wait out both teams as they raise the price as the deadline approaches.

After Grier's departure, Miami looks to be a more active seller than before, and Phillips is one of the more obvious trade chips for the Dolphins. The Eagles and Cowboys are poised to fight for Phillips, which could be great news for the Dolphins as the price is driven up amid a heated bidding war between NFC East contenders.
