The Miami Dolphins are very likely to make sweeping changes to their team this offseason. Of the changes coming, none are more apparent than at quarterback.

Tua Tagovailoa might not be long for the Dolphins roster, even if it means eating a massive cap hit this offseason. Tagovailoa's time in Miami is all but over, leaving the Dolphins without a starting QB in 2026.

Mike DeFabo of The Athletic linked the Dolphins to future Hall of Fame QB Aaron Rodgers. While the fit makes sense from the Dolphins' perspective, would Rodgers even want to come to Miami?

Would Aaron Rodgers sign with Dolphins if there was interest?

"If they do (move on from Tagovailoa), perhaps they would be interested in a veteran QB who was willing to play on a lower-cost contract last season and might consider doing it again," DeFabo writes. "At the same time, would Rodgers really want to go to a team that appears to be so far from contending?"

Seeing the Dolphins move on from Tagovailoa and turn around and sign Rodgers would be a very surprising turn of events this offseason.

But, how likely is such a situation? Rodgers played with the Pittsburgh Steelers in part because of Mike Tomlin.

And while there is some connection to the Green Bay Packers with GM Jon-Eric Sullivan, the ending of Rodgers' time in Green Bay wasn't exactly clean.

That alone might nix any possible Rodgers-to-Miami link, but if that isn't an issue, there's an arguably even bigger problem. The Dolphins are not looking like a contender next season, and Rodgers would very likely not have much of a chance to play in the playoffs.

Miami could be a surprise playoff team, but in a tough division against the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills, combined with all of the holes on the roster, this team is more than just one good offseason away from competing.

If Rodgers plans to play for a contender, Miami is likely crossed off his list. He might not have many other choices, though, as the Steelers might rebuild, and some other teams might pass on him to avoid a QB controversy.

This is a fun hypothetical, especially since, on paper, it makes some sense. But, Dolphins fans shouldn't hold out any hope that Rodgers is coming to Miami this offseason.
