After criticizing officials while appearing on a livestream recently, Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua doubled down on his statement.
While appearing on a livestream with Adin Ross and N3on, Nacua claimed that NFL officials sometimes call penalties because they want to be on television.
He also stated that "refs are the worst."
"The refs are the worst," Nacua said, per ESPN's Sarah Barshop. "... Some of the rules aren't... These guys want to be... These guys are lawyers. They want to be on TV too. You don't think he's texting his friends in the group chat like, 'Yo, you guys just saw me on "Sunday Night Football." That wasn't P.I., but I called it.'"
After the Thursday night loss to the Seattle Seahawks that no doubt had some controversial calls, Nacua doubled down on his statement.
"Can you say I was wrong. Appreciate you stripes for your contribution. Lol," Nacua wrote.
Nacua has since deleted the tweet, but the internet was too fast and grabbed a screen shot before he could take it down.

Nacua, who posted that on X just minutes after the game ended, had a huge game in the Rams' Week 16 loss to the Seahawks, as he ripped off a ridiculous 225 yards and two touchdowns on 12 catches.
The Rams were staked to a dominant 30-14 lead in the fourth quarter of Thursday's contest, only to cough up the lead over the final nine-plus minutes, which sent the contest into overtime.
Los Angeles got the ball first in the extra frame and went on to score a touchdown, which amounted to Nacua's second of the game.
But the Seahawks answered right back with their own score and finished off their comeback with a two-point conversion.
With the victory, the Seahawks move into first place in the NFC West and the No. 1 seed in the conference, while the Rams fall to second place and the No. 5 seed.
However, things are far from settled in both areas with two games left, and that's especially true when you include the San Francisco 49ers, who are still very much in the running for both the division title and first-round bye and have yet to play this week.
