The Los Angeles Rams have been one of the best teams in the NFL this season. At 8-2, tied atop the NFC with the Philadelphia Eagles and ahead of the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West, the Rams are in great shape.

One of the big reasons why the Rams have been so good this season, other than the MVP-type performance from Matthew Stafford and the duo of Puka Nacua and Devante Adams working great, is how great the defense has been.

While Jared Verse draws the most attention, another defender for the Rams is having a great year. And ahead of their Week 12 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Rams are rewarding that player, linebacker Nate Landman, with a $22.5 million extension.

Rams reward LB Nate Landman with $22.5 million contract

"The Rams and LB Nate Landman agreed to terms on a 3-year, $22.5M deal with $15.6M guaranteed, source said," NFL Network insider Rapoport reports. "He was playing under the veteran minimum deal of $1.1M this year."

This is a huge contract for Landman, who signed a veteran minimum deal with the Rams coming into the 2025 season. After an injury impacted his 2024 season, Landman couldn't find a strong deal in free agency.

He signed back on with the Rams, and it's been a great outcome for both sides. Not only is Landman having a strong season, but he's been rewarded with a $2.1.4 million pay raise.

Los Angeles now has the veteran linebacker locked up for the next three years, keeping the 27-year-old around to ensure the Rams' young, ascending defense stays strong.

This season, Landman has started all 10 games and has an NFL-leading four forced fumbles to go with four passes defended, two fumble recoveries, 1.5 sacks, and 91 total tackles with four tackles for loss.

It's been a career year for Landman, and the Rams rewarded the undrafted free agent linebacker out of Colorado with a huge pay raise after a strong Week 11 performance, and before a huge Sunday Night Football matchup against the Buccaneers.
