Los Angeles Rams receiver DeVante Adams is set to return for the team's wild-card matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

This will be Adams' first game since injuring his hamstring in the Rams' Week 15 win over the Detroit Lions, and the six-time Pro Bowler's absence was keenly felt, as the offense struggled to produce in clutch moments, which would explain the close losses to the Seattle Seahawks and the Atlanta Falcons.

Even though those two losses may have cost the Rams playoff seeding, having your best players available right before the postseason is ideal, and after knowing how much worse Adams' injury could have been, it is safe to say Los Angeles dodged a bullet.

Adams avoided a more serious injury in Week 15

According to Greg Beacham of the Associated Press, Adams said he also suffered a knee injury in addition to a hamstring injury.

Beacham also said Adams avoided making things worse by slowing down on the play instead of going all in and laying out the ball.

Adams' self-awareness is the main reason the veteran is available for the upcoming postseason run, and the Rams will benefit from it in a major way if he performs as well as he did before he went down.

Before the injury, Adams had a chance at hauling in another 1,000 receiving yard season, accumulating 739, and still finished the regular season with the most receiving touchdowns in the league with 14.

Pairing Adams back with arguably the best wide receiver in the league, in Puka Nacua, along with an MVP candidate in Matthew Stafford, makes the Rams one of the most dangerous teams in the playoffs.
