Wide receiver Puka Nacua credits much of his NFL success to a Los Angeles Rams coaching staff, which is exceptionally deep and talented.
Several members of the Rams’ staff have drawn interest around the league, earning interviews for head coaching and coordinator positions. Among them is 35-year-old pass game coordinator Nathan Scheelhaase, who interviewed with the Browns and Raiders, as well as the Steelers and Ravens before those teams ultimately selected other candidates.
The Rams’ top-ranked offense under head coach Sean McVay has thrived thanks in large part to standout performances from players such as Nacua and quarterback Matthew Stafford, both of whom posted eye-popping numbers this season. Los Angeles now sits one win away from the Super Bowl, set to face the Seahawks on Sunday in the NFC championship game.

If Nacua had his way, much of the credit would go to Scheelhaase.
“I’m new in the NFL, too, but I feel like he’s the modern aged coach,” the 24-year-old told reporters Thursday. “Somebody who’s a little bit familiar with the some of the slang terms we might use in the meeting rooms — lit, SLATT, gang, fire — things that wouldn't make sense when we are watching football, but he understands those.
“But his ability to communicate what are job is on Wednesday through Sunday is something that has been a blessing in our room. To understand how we operate, but then to be on the same page as the quarterbacks.”

Nacua led the league with 129 receptions, and closed the regular season with 1,715 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.
Though his stat line in the divisional-round win over the Bears was modest, Nacua delivered several key receptions to keep drives alive in the frigid, snowy conditions in Chicago.
