The Los Angeles Rams don't have very many household names on their defense anymore. Gone are the days of Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey.

Even without the names, the Los Angeles defense still dominates the metrics.

The Rams' defense is ranked first in defensive grade, run defense grade, and coverage grade. They're playing as a cohesive unit all over the field.

More: Did the Rams get the two best defenders in the entire 2024 draft class?

Coming over this season from Atlanta, Nate Landman, while not known by many, has been a steady guiding force for this defense. He's l 15 games this season and leads the team in total tackles this season with 123.

This season, he's played so well that he put himself in a tier with one of the best LBs in the league, who just so happens to play in his division now.

Nate Landman and Fred Warner only LBs to do this since 2023

Landman's 123 total tackles this season are the most of his career, with two games still to play this season. It's not just his ability to bring guys down that gives him value; it's his ability to get the ball out.

To go along with his team-leading tackle mark, Landman also leads Los Angeles in forced fumbles. It's his combination of the two skills that puts him in rarefied air over the last few seasons.

Fred Warner is a generational talent at the LB position who's been first-team All-NFL four times. To be in the same class as him in any stat is tremendous.

Landman joins Warner as the only LBs to record 300 tackles and 10 forced fumbles since 2023.

If the Rams want to reach their ultimate Super Bowl goals this season, they'll need Landman to continue to be the sturdy force he's been for them in the middle of the field.
