The Los Angeles Rams have been one of, if not the best, teams in not just the NFC, but in the NFL as a whole. They currently sit at 10-3 and look down upon both their division and conference.
With just four games to go and only two of them against possible playoff teams, they’re showing no signs of slowing down prior to the playoffs.
Recently, PFF grades came out on their defense, and they were surprising for a team that doesn’t find itself at the top of a ton of raw statistics defensively.
More: This Rams defense is grading out like a nightmare
Even though their defense has been quietly fantastic this season, it’s been their offense that’s caught people’s attention. Matthew Stafford is the leader in the clubhouse for the NFL’s MVP award, and Puka Nacua has an excellent shot at OPOY.
PFF came out with their most recent grades for both total team offense and team defense, and the Rams have the chance to do something that has never been done before if the numbers hold.
Rams graded as the #1 offense and defense by PFF
Pro Football Focus looks beyond raw statistics and analyzes what is happening on the field in a deeper sense. The numbers that came out look very good for the Los Angeles Rams.
Not only are they graded first in both offense and defense, but if those numbers hold, they’ll be the first team since PFF grading began to finish the season as the league leaders in both.

Los Angeles has been a problem for opponents all season, so these grades make a ton of sense. Their defense is quietly suffocating, and their offense is among the more balanced attacks in the league.
Any team that has to see them in the playoffs is going to go into LA and deal with one of the most well-rounded teams, possibly in NFL history, by the numbers.
